Dear Candice!
I want to thank you for your wonderful
music. Your music touches my soul and
enchants the world. It reminds my of my
childhood dreams and also reminds me of who
I am. I love your lyrics and also Ritchie’s
music. Thank you for bringing this wonderful
music to us!
Some weeks ago I bought your DVD “Castles
and Dreams” and since then have watched it
almost every day :-) I would so much love to
come to a concert again. I have been to a
concert of your castle tour, in Burghausen.
You are such a beautiful and talented lady.
I really admire you and I love your style. I
also used to sing in a party-music band
together with my husband and I also play the
guitar. This was already several years ago.
I love to sing, but I never could be so
outgoing and talking with the audience, as
I’m a little bit shy. My husband now plays
in a rock-band. He is a great fan of
Ritchie! And I sing alone at home ;-)
I read that you also love animals and have
cats. How many cats do you have? Do you miss
them while you are at tour?
Some years ago I fulfilled one of my
childhood dreams and I now own a horse. To
be with my horse always fills me with
wonder, as it is so astonishing that such a
wonderful creature lets me handle and ride
her! To be with her out in the nature gives
me so much. I also have a cat, whom I love
very much. She’s a little diva :-)
Unfortunately because of my job and my horse
I have almost no time anymore to play the
guitar. But when I watch your DVD I’m so
inspired to play and sing more again. :-)
I very much hope to see you soon somewhere
in South Germany!
Love and hugs,
Annette
Dear Annette,
Thank you for such wonderful words. You may
also enjoy our DVD Paris Moon if you liked
Castles and Dreams. It is the most recent
dvd recorded release and has some songs that
are not usually heard in concert anymore...
I don't think it matters if you sing at home
or in front of people if you love to sing.
Singing is such a wonderful release and
expression of emotion...it makes you feel
free!
We have 2 cats, 1 grey Persian named
Hopscotch who has graced many magazine
covers with me at this point! He is my true
soulmate... And 1 huge ginger Maine Coon
named Romper. He's quite a little terror!
They both have such different but such
incredible personalities...Guaranteed to
make you smile. The hardest thing about
touring is leaving them at home for long
periods of time. But we celebrate when we
return. This morning, our 1st day home from
the USA tour, Romper made sure to jump on
the bed, walk across my pillow, and
ultimately my head, and knock over every
item on my night table including a cup of
water. Then he left and Hopper came in to
tickle my nose with his whiskers as I tried
to sleep. Of course, Romper spent the day
sprawled across my unpacked suitcase
thinking if he lay there he could stop us
from leaving again, or at least force us to
take him with us!
I love horses as well. They are so majestic!
I took horseback riding lessons this past
summer and just loved it. Perhaps next year
I will go back for more...
Enjoy your animals and your music. They are
the portal to another realm...
Love and light,

Dear Candice,
My name is Kate. I have got a friend.
Her name is Tanya. We live in Russia, in
Ivanovo. It`s a very beautiful city, we
love them, but you have never been in
our city. Tanya likes your group "Blackmore`s
Night" very very much. And she would
like to ask you: "Why you and Ritchie
haven`t got children?"
We are waiting for your letter! With
best wishes, Kate.
P.S. sorry, but we don`t know English
very well...
Hello Tanya and Kate,
Thank you for writing. There are so many
places we would love to visit and play
in Russia, but it is so difficult to go
to some of the smaller towns with so
much equipment that we need to take to
perform the concert. We have played in
St Petersburg and Moscow a number of
times as they are easier to get in and
out of. I hope to be able to travel to
some other places within Russia in the
near future!
Your question is a good, though
personal, one. The truth is, I mainly
live in a timeless realm. Days turn to
years so quickly. And in our lives it is
so easy to go into the studio, record,
then start promotions, then tour and you
spend the rest of the year touring
before its time to go back into the
studio again. Then the circle starts
again for the next year. Before you know
it 20 years have flown by. I don't know
where the time goes.
But that is why it took us even that
long to get married. Not for any other
reason than we needed to take time to
slow down and just be there for the
wedding.
So, there is no ulterior motive. And
someday, when we are ready, perhaps we
will.
Love and light,
Candice
Candice:
I just wanted to pass along this heartfelt
thanks for the unbelievable show here in
Connecticut. We were so honored to finally
host you and the band in our state and for
it to be the first show of the US tour that
year it made it that much more special. My
wife and I had so much fun as it felt like
we were invited to
a huge medieval pub party. I hope & trust it
won't be the last here in Ct. It was
especially pleasing to see how much TMIB was
enjoying himself. I've been a fan of his now
for (WAY) over 30 years and myself &
everyone can tell how fulfilled and enriched
he is by the musical direction you and he
have chosen. One last thing, I have e-mailed
Carol Stevens asking her if she could find
out the "Mystery Of The Hand Sign"??? At the
end of the show Friday, Herr Blackmore did
it again to all of us, & I
managed to flash one @ YOU ...& you to ME
before you ran offstage.
NOW, can you please tell me what this means?
I have had several deaf patient's over the
years and they say it's not a known signal
in sign language. I know the "I love You"
sign is the Maloich/hook 'em horns sign
with the extended thumb....but what is this
one? Do you know what was/is Ritchie trying
to say? I have been wondering/waiting for 15
years to finally solve this....... THE
"Mystery Of The Hand Sign" Thank you once
again,
Love & Light to you and all,
Regards, Drdp
Hello Good Dr,
Yes, I have seen that hand sign for many
years, and can tell you that it wouldn't be
recognized as a sign that the deaf would
know. But, if I do tell you, the mystery
would be gone, now wouldn't it? It's like
knowing how to do a magic trick.... Isn't
the mystery more intriguing and fun?
Love and mystery to you,
Candice
Dear Candice,
It's been just a little time since I've
known you and Blackmore's Night. But I have
to say that I'm already a big admirer of
you. Your wonderful voice, and those
beautiful melodies, they have the power of
making my days better.
I've always loved music, but I have to
confess that, in spite of my efforts, I'm
not talented. But just listening to it… it's
already magical. Music is my escape; it
helps me understand my feelings, my hopes
and dreams. I'm 23 years old, I've just
graduated from college and now I'm starting
a career. It's such a difficult period of
life… So many fears and doubts! But I guess
I'm doing well so far. The most important
thing is that I'm doing something I like and
that will help me make world a better place
someday. I have a degree in economics, and I
work with economic development. Sometimes I
get really sad with the things around me,
with all the injustices of the world. But
music comforts me, and helps me to see the
nice side of things, the things that are
worth it.
You have such an amazing gift, not just
'cause of your wonderful voice, but 'cause
you really touch people, and in someway you
bring joy to them through your music and
your kindness. You really have this power.
I honestly hope that someday I can come to a
Blackmore's Night concert. I'm from Brazil ,
and I still don't have the condition to
travel to the places where you'll be
touring. But I really hope to make it soon.
Candice, I'd like to ask you, Which are your
hobbies? I mean, I know music is a big part
of your life, but what else do you enjoy?
What makes you happy when you have a free
time?
Just one more thing I have to tell you… The
photos of the site are just wonderful!
Really beautiful!
That's all for now… I really hope you answer
me!
Love,
White Rose
Dear White Rose,
What a beautiful name...
What exciting times for you! Everything in
life brings fears and doubts with it, but
when you clear those obstacles, someday you
will reflect on these days and think how far
you have come and how proud you must be of
yourself! Your accomplishments are amazing.
Your vision a great one. Just take it one
step at a time and before you know it you
will have gone miles, uphill!
Music was always my great escape too. It is
magical and can heal, can open the door to
so many emotions, can be expressive, it goes
beyond words or comprehension. Speaking
directly to the spirit.
My hobbies vary. Of course music is my
breath and life; but for other realms of
escape I enjoy anything creative. Cooking,
gardening, walking in the woods, any
interaction with animals (just recently swam
with stingrays and dolphins for the 5th
time!) , being by the ocean, photographing
nature making jewelry, traveling and
experiencing new adventures, making dvds for
friends, scrapbooking, charity work,
environmental work, doing things for other
people. I am always keeping busy somehow!
Thank you for all your kind words and best
of everything for the future. You will make
this world a better place to be in if you
believe. It wont be easy, but if we all do a
little...every little bit counts to someone.
Do you know the story about the starfish?
Read here, I think you'll like it:
Perhaps someday I will see you in Brazil...
Much love till then,
Candice
Dear Candice!!
Hey how are you?
Im pretty fine thanks, I just wanted to
congratulate you for your amazing
singing and your ability to express your
feelings through the songs.
In "Spirit of the sea" I can actually
imagine all those things you sing about, it
relaxes me so much. "Now and then", it's so
beautiful, it really expresses nostalgy for
love and stuff.
May I ask you a question?? Is your last name
really Night? I think it's totally cool
Im a big fan of yours from La Serena, Chile!
I know its hard for you guys to come here so
maybe
there's a chance I chase you in Europe, you
know that I lived in Trento during
exchange... it was wonderful.
Oh and another thing, I e-mailed the contact
info asking if there's a chance that my band
could cover
Spirit of The Sea with more alternative rock
influences, only with your permission of
course
Thank you for your time and keep up the
beautiful relaxing music!!!
With love! RaiLeff!!!!!!!!!!
Hello RaiLef,
I am so glad that in this world of craziness
and negativity abounding, that we can relax
and bring some peace or happiness to you and
others through the music. It's wonderful to
hear!
Actually, my last name isn't really Night,
but my first name "Candice" means "shining
white light" in Greek and I wanted the last
name that I chose to bring the balance of
the light and the dark. The mystery of both
embodied in a new identity, or perhaps just
an identity that is "more me" than a birth
name may feel like.
Of course you can cover Spirit of the Sea.
If you do, send me a link so I can see your
version!
Love and light,
Candice
