Candice,
My wife and I were grateful to have seen
Blackmore’s Night for the very first time at
the Strand Theatre in Lakewood, NJ on what
we believe was the last night of the
American Tour in 2008. We ran into some
Renaissance Faire friends at the show and we
loved the performance. We would like to know
if Blackmore’s Night will be touring the
states, and in particular NJ, in 2010? We
have a bunch of friends who would like to
join us.
Kind regards,
Bob
Hello Bob,
As tour dates are coming in right now, there
may be a good possibility that we will do
some USA dates in the fall. And if we do,
and even better possibility that NJ will be
on the routing list.
When dates are confirmed they will be posted
on the
blackmoresnight.com
site on the tour page, so stay tuned!
Glad you enjoyed the show!
Love and light,

Dear Candice,
My name is Hannah and I am 13 years old.
I look you to you as a role model for
you are a fab singer.
In the future I aim to be a fighter
pilot for the Royal Air Force, and
although
it isnt a job for singing, I would still
love to have a career in signing.
I would like to know if you will be
touring in the UK soon.
Thank You
Hannah

Hello Hannah,
I love your name...beautiful! Wow
...what an incredible goal! I wish you
all the luck in the world with your path
of becoming a fighter pilot! That would
be amazing- to see the world from that
perspective... And to help protect your
country and all the people within...
It doesn't mean you have to stop
singing! Singing is what you do because
you love it. It helps you deal with
stress, is an amazing escape , also
helps you express yourself. So you don't
need to choose one path or the other.
The UK should be on our list for next
year. We are really looking forward to
returning to Ritchie's home country! We
miss you all...
Love and light,
Candice
Hello Candice,
First a compliment, I really like your
singing and your playing. i am a musician by
myself, playing clarinet. I love to play
Past time with good company and Home again,
they have the ideal key because my clarinet
is B-flat tuned, but i can play in any
range, but the closer to B-flat, the easier.
To me the clarinet was quite easy after a
few lessons, but to improve i must keep on
practicing, which you do too i assume. Are
your instruments difficult to start with?
Now my real question: Is there a song which
you would love to give a blackmore's night
treatement? I like what you did with the
deep purplesongs soldier of fortune and
child in time, for example.
Keep on going the good work and good luck
with recording, looking forward to the new
material.
Love and Blessings, Dennis
Hello Dennis,
Yes, of course the instruments are difficult
to start with. They each have their quirks
and of course the double reed when they are
cane not plastic can be very challenging!
But as you know, the more you play them, the
easier they become. I think they like the
attention....
There are some songs that I would like to
do, like the Last Unicorn, for example...
But in all honesty, I enjoy singing so much
that whenever Ritchie hears or revisits a
song and wants me to sing it for us to
record, I enjoy that creative journey just
as much! He can envision where the song
should go in our style in ways that I may
not even think about at the time. So its all
a sort of journey for us...whether its new
songs or covering olde...
Love and light,
Candice

Hello dear Aino,
It sounds like both you and your sister have
the gift of music! How wonderful...Never
stop singing and playing! It is a beautiful
gift indeed...
Thank you and your sister for such nice
words. I play a lot of different
instruments. The shawms, the hurdy gurdy,
the piano, the penny whistle, gemshorn,
crumhorn, recorder just to name some of them
for you.
We will be releasing a new cd for you to
have new songs to sing along to later this
year!
Hope to see you next time we come to
Finland. Maybe next year? Perhaps we will be
able to sing together!
Love and light to you and your sister,
Candice
Hello Candice
I`ve met with your music in september this
year when I was in germany at one friend of
my godmother and since than I just can`t
stop listening to your music, I love your
voice, its so beautifull...Blackmore`s night
is my favourite Renaissance-inspired folk
band (its described on wiki like this).
I have one question on you...I`ve found on
youtube record from one of your concerts,
where u sing Winds in the Willows (from
Under a Violet Moon album). Is there any
album where is this song sang by you? In
original album u sing it along with Ritchie
(I think its him), but I like more the
version where u sing it alone like the one
from that concert, but I cant find this
version anywhere. Its one of my favourite
song from Blackmore`s night along with
Reneissance Faire and Clock Ticks on...I
can`t describe how beautiful they are...all
of them.
And are you preparing new album? or it has
time? :)
I also would like to ask you, what is your
and Ritchies favourite song from your band
(if u have any "top")
Sorry for some grammar errors, but im just
learning english :) and thanks for your time
Sincerely, Zdenko
Hello Zdenko,
So happy to hear you are enjoying the music.
I believe the only version of Wind In The
Willows done the way we do it in concert is
on the dvds. The song was originally
recorded on Under A Violet Moon, as you
said, but John Ford from the Strawbs did the
duet with me. That is how we originally
found the song. It was on John's cd and we
really liked it. So we covered it on ours
with him doing the duet.
Some of my favorite Blackmore's Night songs
are Windmills, Circle, Hanging Tree, Fools
Gold...but they change depending on my moon,
all the time. You can find some other
favorites on my "favorites"
page on his site. Some of Ritchie's
favorites are Renaissance Faire, Clock Ticks
On- but check his
Moon Castle
to see what else he likes the best.
New cd almost complete!
Love and light,
Candice
