Dear Candice.
I have recently been to a Deep Purple Gig
just before Christmas in Manchester and
I noticed with great sadness the absence
of a certain Mr Blackmore. I have been a
lover of his music for most of my life and
have seen him play live many times with
both Rainbow and Purple. The precision with
which he plays his guitar puts up the hairs
on the back of my neck. The guy currently
with Purple, although good, does not even
come close. This prompted me to look on
your web site to find out what he was up
to these days and now I am kicking myself
for not doing it sooner. I went straight
out and bought Ghost of a Rose and it has
never been out of my CD player since both
at home and in the car. I am going to get
my hands on every thing you have done so
far. You and he are absolutely fantastic!
What more can I say?
My partner and many of our friends have
been subjected to your brilliant work during
our regular get to to's. These tend to start
off with you as pleasant relaxing background
music but as the wine starts flowing and,
the tracks get more lively, the volume goes
up and people start to dance. Fantastic!
One question if I may. Will you be doing
a UK tour?
It has been said that you and Ritchie are
an item. If this is so then we wish you
forever happiness.
Best Regards
Jon & Sue.
Hello Jon and Sue,
Well let me start by saying "Welcome
to the family!" I am so glad that you
decided to join us! We are having a wonderful
time creating this music so to hear people
enjoying it as you are is always wonderful
for us. Now, the question is...can we get
you to dress in Renaissance garb when you
come to see us play?
Actually, Ritchie and i are back in the
studio right now recording our 5th studio
album (even I can't believe its been that
long!) And there will be a DVD released
later this year so you can see some of our
castle shows as well.
While we are recording, our agent is putting
together our latest tour schedule. I can
promise you that we will becoming back to
the UK this year. As England is one of our
favorite places to play , we always look
forward to being asked to come back there.
They are just checking availabilities now
so as soon as the tour dates are confirmed
you will find them on the "tour dates"
page of www.blackmoresnight.com
Hope to see you then! (in garb!) :)
Love and light,
Candice
Hello
you,
Here with a belgian girl. How are you and the
rest of the band?
I have just started listening to your music
and with some of the songs i really melt,
but some of the songs I've heard you for the
first time in the car with my mom,she sang
it for me ( wish you were here) after I've
moved in with my dad.
Now we have a fight and for myself I sing
it for her.
I don't know you guys verry well but I'm looking
on the web.
I already have 1 cd and will get the other
ones so i can really get to know you and your
music.
With "play minstrel play" I always
laugh even when i don't feel good.
I hope you guys will play in belgium one day
so i can see you all in real person and not
just a picture.
My family don't wanna have anything to do
with me because I have make a mistake in the
past; drugs- but even now after being clean
for 8 months they still fight with me.A woman
that I know from the hospital has taken me
in the house so i don't have the life on the
street,at list someone loves me and takes
care of me.
I hope that whenever you play in belgium I
can come backstage for a little take, i've
got a idea of what kind of person you are
by listening to your voice and the way you
use it , i think i would like you.
Mayby we meet some day.
Lots of loves, huges and kisses from a belgiam
girl.
PS: at a way i love you for the person that's
in you,you look further than your eyes rest
and that's the most precious thing of a human
be.
Greats, Wendy
Hello Wendy,
Thank you for your letter. I'm sorry that
you are going through a hard time... Everyone
can make mistakes and I hope that someday
your family will come to realize that. Even
they have made mistakes sometimes, I am sure.
But perhaps they are hurt or feel as if they
have failed you in some way and are just not
sure how to deal with the situation. Sometimes
it is easier to distance youself and it will
give you time to work on you. To build up
your strength and become who you want to be.
It is a struggle, life often is, but it is
those struggles that make you strong. Your
family will be there when they are ready.
If they are not...it is OK- You take care
of you. That is the most important thing right
now. To get healthy and strong, to build relationships
with people that are postitive and will be
good for you. Create...write, play, sing,
cook....anything that reflects who you are
inside...who you want to be. Keep journals
so you can look back one day and see where
you were and how far you have come... Life
is a journey. Some of it is through up hill
rocky terrain, some through smooth roads lit
by stars. You will encounter all... Be glad
that someone has taken you in and let them
know how much it means to you. We forget to
tell people things that we think they already
know sometimes... It will mean a lot to that
person.
I do hope to come back to Belgium soon...it's
been a while. I hope to see you then. Until
then there are other fan clubs for us around
the world that you can visit via the internet.
They are listed on blackmoresnight.com - then
go to Fan Clubs. I hope that the music helps
you escape from troubles for a while... Stay
strong...
Much love,
Candice
Hello,Candice!
I'm Dmitry from Tver,Russia. I've a small
question that You may find a bit silly but...Well,lately
I was watching pictures of Blackmore's Night.
I saw a picture of Ritchie playing football
(soccer). Among the present on the soccer-field
I noticed,as I thought,a female figure-dressed
absolutely in black (white socks are not counted).
The picture had small resolution and I couldn't
see the face,so I'm wracking my brain now
about who that was. Therefore as a huge fan
of both Blackmore's Night and football I would
like to ask You: Do you ever play soccer with
Ritchie and was that You in the photograph?
Health and luck to You and Ritchie. Hope to
see You in Russia soon. Hello
Dmitry,
Yes, that was probably me! Ritchie and I often
play soccer together. Mostly touring is sitting
in cars, hotel rooms, planes and backstage-
so when you get to play soccer and run around
on a field it is invigorating! We also play
at home, every Sunday except for the winter
time. But before I met Ritchie, I had played
soccer for 7 seasons in different leagues.
It is one of the great passions that Ritchie
and I have in common. I am the secret weapon
on his team because most men see a small blonde
girl and think that I can't kick a ball...
I love to be underestimtated! Actually I have
a very hard kick so I am usually on defense.
And don't forget that Ritchie and I met in
1989 on a soccer field so we owe our relationship
to soccer! We may never had met otherwise...
Next time we come to Russia , you'll have
to come out and play with us (and shhhh...don't
tell anyone on the opposing team that I have
a hard kick!)
Love and light,
Candice
Hello Candice!
Your music is inspiring. I bought several
copies of Beyond the Sunset
and gave them to now new fans of you for Christmas.
It’s wonderful
to share the gift of music!
Could you tell us a little more about the
twins who sing with you. Warm
expressions
Gary
Hello Gary,
Thank you for helping to spread the word
of our music...
Of course, I would love to tell you about
the twins. My moonsisters...Lady Nancy and
Lady Madeline. They are indeed a very magical
duo with amazing, soaring operatic voices.
We met a few years ago and when we started
singing together we knew that we had been
connected way beyond this lifetime. Often
I will be walking with one of them and someone
will see us and ask if we are twins! Or
if all three of us are together we are asked
if we are triplets and we always say we
are because our connection is that strong.
They have been singing together since they
were very small. They have their own album
called: "It's Just Me", which
they recorded before they joined our band.
They usually make it available for sale
at the merchandise booth when we are on
tour. Actually, we feel such an otherworldly
connection that our secret sign is the sign
of the pyramid- signifying the magic and
depth of understanding that occurs between
the 3 of us. If you watch us closely on
stage you can see us making that signal
to eachother in support. Because they live
so close to us we usually go to restaurants
or wineries or Renaissance Faires together
and perform either wih Ritchie playing or
acapella. It is great to have such a sisterly
bond with them. Connections between women
are bonds that bind between lifetimes, deeply,
loyally and with love and respect. And we
share that...
Thank you for your question.
Love and light from the 3 of us!
Candice
Dear Candice,
I was recently at your 2005
show in San Francisco. It was absolutely
wonderful!! I was in the front row with
David and the other fan club members (we
put out posters all over town weeks before
the show) so I got a great unobstructed
view of your performance. I waited after
the concert to see about autographs but
it was very late and we were told you had
already left.
Anyhow, I would like to send you a picture
to sign. I plan on enclosing an envelope
with postage on it so you don't have to
worry about the expense of sending it back.
What is the address I can write so that
I can send it along?
---Jennifer
Hello Jennifer,
Thank you for your help in putting up the
posters! It is funny, you never know how
people will react the 1st time that you
play in a new territory...relying on word
of mouth and hoping people will know that
you are there. Even getting the promoters
to believe in you for the 1st time takes
so long. But, even though this was our 1st
group of shows on the west coast, the fans
were so amazing! Even in that smaller venue
in San Francisco, we were a bit worried
how it would go...but when we arrived and
saw people in full garb waiting in line
arond the block- we knew that we were amongst
friends. How wonderful to see that upon
arrival!! You , David, and all those who
came and dressed up and danced and clapped
along that night, and in all our shows on
the west coast...deserve a warm thank you
for your participation. You made it so memorable
for us! We had a wonderful time... I can't
wait to come back again already!
You can send the photo in care of our snail
mail fan club:
Blackmore's Night Fan Club
PO Box 1538
Miller Place NY 11764
USA
and just enclose a letter that you had emailed
me about the picture. Kris, who runs the
fan club, will get it to me.
Thanks again!
Love,
Candice
