Hello Candice.
My name is Ken. I amJapanese student,so even if I make mistake, don`t
care about it please. I hear you may come in Japan. Is it
true?If it is true,I am very pleased. And I wish you play
"Now and then". This is my favorite song. By the way, where
and when do you go to Renaissance fair? I want to go there, too.
I wish you play Renaissance and traditional music forever!
Ken
Hello Ken,
Yes, it is true. We will come back to Japan, after being
away for too many years, in October. We will be there from
October 18th- 25th playing Osaka, Toyko, Nagoya and Hiroshima.
You can see all of the details on http://www.blackmoresnight.com/tour_info.html
Now and Then is a song that still holds a very dear
place in my heart. For me it represents so many things...But
now when we play it, if we do play it, it is usually at
the end of very special shows and for audiences who have
given as much to us as we have tried to give to them. It
signals the end of the show, and the end of a wonderful
night, so it is still very emotional. I am glad that it
is your favorite song. We just rerecorded it and we hope
to put the new version on the next cd. We do enjoy going
to Renaissance Faires every year, as many as we can get
to. This year we traveled to Arizona to visit their faire.
Usually we go to the Pennsylvania Faire, Florida, or Massachusetts
faires. If you haven't been to a faire, they are amazing
and I really recommend checking them out. Its another world.
You can see some of them listed here. http://www.renaissancemagazine.com/fairelist.html
But they are worldwide now, and it is growing!
Hope to see you in Japan!
Love and light, Candice
What a wonderful
set of photos from Halloween! I laughed so hard my sides hurt,
TWIB... ha!
I do, of course, have a question. Are there any plans to release
unseen/bonus material on the upcoming DVD?
p.s. I loved the live album!!!
p.p.s. Please remind Ritchie I still owe him the beer I promised
at the Patchogue show ;-)
Met vriendelijke groet/kind regards,
BREASE BV
Dear Richard,
Reading your message made me laugh.
That's right The Woman In Black from Halloween! Did you
notice that I was actually wearing Ritchie's stage shirt
from the 70's? He had no idea that I was going to be him
for Halloween and you should have seen his face when I walked
down the stairs! He said I should have won a prize for that
outfit... The hardest part was keeping the moustache on...
Ah yes, the DVD... We have loads of plans for the DVD...
The record company is interested in filming even more live
footage this year to add along to the existing footage.
It will have quite a few layers and be done in 5.1 surround
sound. There is even a rumor of putting some video tracks
on the new cd to be released...maybe 3 or 4 so you get a
taste of what the DVD will be like. But it's anyones guess
at this point what will actually happen. Lots of ideas floating
around.... now we'll have to see what the reality of the
situation will be. But it looks good so far!
Stay well!
Love,
Candice
Hello, Miss Candy.
I don't know if you remember me. Probably not.
But I wanted to give you
an update. I am the one that is writing a book based on
the lyrics of
Village on the Sand.
I'm still writing, when I can. The mundane world still
exists for me and
that leaves me little time to write. But, I have a publisher
who is
interested in the book. She does manuscript evaluations
for every chapter
that I complete. She has even secured an historian to check
my accuracy.
My problem is this: I want to make sure that the credit
for the lyrics is
the way you want it. I know you are busy, but if you could
just write
something out that I could put in so that the wording is
correct, I would
really appreciate it.
I won't take up your time with this. Like I said, I
just wanted to give
you an update.
Also, if you will permit me to be human for a moment,
I wanted to let you
know that your music, yours and Ritchie's, is the best.
Good music is
defined as that which consistently gives pleasure. During
my drive to
work, I have time to listen to a full cd. At least 4 of
the 5 days, it's
Blackmore's Night that I choose. The other day will typically
be Rainbow
or Deep Purple. I am waiting on the 4th album from Blackmore's
Night and
your first solo album.
Between your golden voice and Ritchie's guitar genius,
you make the world
right for me.
As you always say, love and light!
Susan Bain
"Stay aloft madam, there are games afoot."
Prince Henry, _Everafter_
Dear Susan,
Thank you for the interest in using my lyrics in your book.
How exciting! I would love to see a copy of it when your
work, your journey of tales, is complete. I just spent quite
a bit of time going through our lyric page on the official
Blackmore's Night website and I have corrected any mistakes
that may have been up there. So, if you need to see the
lyrics, in the future you can check http://www.blackmoresnight.com/moon_castle_pages/lyrics.htm
That should make the references easier.
Thank you for your "human" moment... sometimes
I think that such sensitivity and compassion is almost above
being human, but my faith is often renewed.
Keep writing and creating..that truly is otherworldly...
And best of luck with it all...
Love and light to you as well,
Candice
Hi Candice!
We have the first three Blackmore's Night CD's and are absolutely
entranced, enchanted and elated! We have just received two
of the video's (Shadow of the Moon and Under a Violet Moon).
Thoroughly engrossing! We LOVE your voice, the songs you and
Ritchie write and arrange and the extraordinary guitar playing
by Ritchie which is really no surprise to us having followed
his particular career since 1969. He is simply a master! Together
you make BEAUTIFUL music and you make a great many people
around the world very happy! Looking very much forward to
the new live CD and DVD. Also, the release of your solo CD
is much anticipated by us.
You mentioned in another response your birth date is 8th May
(Taurus) as is the good lady Margaret's (15th) but we have
not been able to find the year of your birth. We would be
interested to know if it is not too rude a request!
We realize it is probably nigh on impossible but we would
love to see you in Australia some day. We will be in the front
row for sure! Gary has been fortunate enough to see Ritchie
with Deep Purple and Rainbow and to meet Ritchie personally
on the Gold Coast in Queensland in 1976 at the end of the
Rainbow tour (fascinating gentleman)! However, a tour by Blackmore's
Night would be a dream come true for both of us and hopefully
many, many more Australians!
Thank you once again for enriching our lives with the magic
of your lyrics and sound! Yours is certainly extraordinary
in a world filled with mediocrity and middle of the road!
Love and peace to you both. May the coming year be all you
wish for!
Gary & Margaret
Dear Gary and Margaret,
Thank you for your wonderful words! I would love to tour Australia!
I have seen so many incredible programs on TV about your land
and it looks so amazing! Just to go to hold a koala bear may
be enough for me! Ah, perhaps someday...
The year of my birth is 1971. This year I am 33- or as I like
to say, 29 again! But still the heart of an innocent. I do
not believe much in man created numbers to judge our time
here- but our mind set, our experiences, our spirits, things
you can not put an age nor a number on... Hope to see you
down under!
Love,
Candice
Hello Candice,
My name is Jason from...well, wherever I end up I guess
::laughs::. I really just wanted to tell you how much your
music intrigues me. You have the most beautiful voice I've
ever heard and I hope you continue to enchant the world
with your music. I too spend most of my free time writing
songs with the hopes of becoming a singer. Most everyone
says I have my head stuck in the clouds. I mean, they all
say I have a good voice but that I am just not very realistic.
I would be most honored if perhaps sometime I could e-mail
one of my songs and you let me know what you think. That
is, when you have the time. This is probably a dumb question
but honestly, what is it like to be a famous musician with
millions of fans who adore you? (Just in case I never get
the chance to find out for myself) By the way, Hanging Tree
is my favorite too.
Much love,
Jason :)
Dear Jason,
Please, never listen to anyone who tells you you can't do
something. The world is full of critics and no one has even
erected a statue to honor a critic. If singing makes you
feel wonderful, do it. If it helps you express your emotions,
do it. If it brings you out of the stress of the day or
soothes you, do it. And if there is 1,000 people listening
or only you - it doesn't matter. Because at the end of the
day it is a freedom that you are sensing through singing.
So, please don't listen to "them"- there will
always be a "them" trying to pull you down. But
you can use your song to rise above. Never forget.
Your question is sweet. I don't really see that side of
it. I have a wonderful family, a terrific fiance, and 2
cats that I adore. I am doing what I love to do and I have
friends that make me laugh every day that I know will be
there for me. That is enough for me. I feel so lucky. And
when people write in to ask questions I feel as if I have
made new friends or at least touched someone emotionally
in some way. And that is a greater sense of belonging. Of
connection. But as for "famous" and "millions
of fans"... well, I'll have to ask Ritchie and get
back to you!!
Best of luck in all you do!
Love,
Candice
