"If you have a question for me, enter this room. It exists just for us. A place for you to come to ask me whatever you wish. A chance for us to get closer. Share your thoughts, tell me your story, ask me your questions.  They will be answered."

Hi Candice,

I am wondering how the new album is coming…
Will it be out soon…. I listen every day to at least one of your cd’s.
Also are you going to add East Coast ((USA)) Tour dates for this year?
My husband and I came to the Raleigh NC Concert last year for our anniversary. We would love to do it again this year!!
It was the best of nights.

Kasey Q.

Hello Kasey,
So glad you enjoyed the performance in Raleigh! We had a great time that night as well.
The Secret Voyage is due to set sail in the USA on July 15th. You should be able to get it all all major retailers and on amazon.com at that time. More tourdates are still coming in, we're trying to work in some here in the states, maybe end of the year. As soon as dates get confirmed we'll post them on the tour dates page on Blackmoresnight.com. Thanks for your questions!
All the best,
Candice

Dear Candice

Please let me compliment you on your enchanting voice, every time I hear you sing it’s like been transported to another era, a surreal time in where there are only fairy tales, magic and Merlin is sort of just about to make an appearance.
I’d like to ask you if you feel this connection with the music and with the lyrics, when you sing, and is it something that maybe you and Ritchie discuss when the songs are being composed.
Many thanks for allowing us to be part of that world.
May peace and light always shine your paths.
Love

Joey
Hello Joey,

Hello Joey,
Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad that you are on our journey with us. Honestly Ritchie and I never really discuss the deep emotional pull of where our music takes us. It's sort of just an unspoken understanding that we are on the same path through the mystical world. It is something we feel deeply and emote through our songs as well as our lives, but I suppose because for us it is so natural, as if there is no other way, that it just goes without saying.
Love and light to you always
Candice

Dear Candice,
I know both you and Ritchie like Rothenburg but where is your favourite place there? .
I am going there next year on my honeymoon and maybe you can recommend somewhere or something to visit

Thanks
Mandy

Hello Mandy,
Congratulations on your wedding! I think you'll agree that when you 1st see Rothenburg it is like entering a storybook village. It's not very big so everything is within walking distance. The restaurant that we like to go to is the oldest in the village, and is named 'Hell'. Our favorite hotel there is the Eisenhut. And don't forget to pick up puffers or smoker dolls while you are there. They are know for them and we have quite a collection!
I don't know what time of year you are going, but make sure to walk by the castle walls and see the gardens. Also, there are a few medieval based shops to check out too. We just spent Christmas time there for a few days and the market place is very nice to see.
Enjoy!
Love,
Candice

Hello, Candice :)

I'm Julia (often called Daraena) from Poland and I'm really enchanted with Blackmore's Night music.
It brings light and fairytales into my life.
I would like to ask you one question:
What do you think about today children's mentality?

I'm just 16, but I'm still from the generation risen up on fairies, elves and magic. However, today the children are much different. I can see a lot of little girls looking like adults (almost naked, with make-up etc.) and talking not about fairytales, but, for example, thriller films. Their life is based on computer games instead of colorful books.

I want to thank You, Richie and the rest of the band for showing people, that magic still exist and mighty legends aren't only stories :)
Kisses from Poland!

P.S. Waiting for You on 30.05 ;)

Hello Julia,
I completely agree with you. It saddens me to see children today losing their innocence and being pressured to grow up and try to be sexy so quickly. It hurts me to see their lack of wonder and awe of the simple things in nature, her beauty, her magic because they are so caught up in computer games they never go outside. I do worry for the future because if the children of today are missing these important things in their life, their children will be 1 step even further away from understanding about the mystical and from enjoying the simple beauties. It is one of the reasons we try to keep this secret world alive through our music, so hopefully children will once again return to their innocence, to dressing up and reviving their imaginations, to skipping through the grass and learning about the legends and myths through our songs...
I can only hope that there will be more people like you who notice this change in today's children and in the society and try to keep the magic alive by showing them what an amazing world they are missing out on.... Hopefully it will regenerate interest and keep that world, though still hidden, alive....
See you in Poland!
Much love,
Candice

Dear Candice, my name is Viviane, i'm from Brazil, and a big fan of yours and Blackmore's Night!!

I gotta ask you something personal, if you allow me...how long have you and Ricthie been togheter, and what's the diference ( age) between you both...

I'm asking it because I'm in love with someone who's 28 years older, and I feel kinda lost, you know...

Well, thank you for your time, and please excuse my terrible English!!!

God Bless you!!

Viviane, 24 Brazil

Hello Viviane,
Ritchie and I have been together since 1989... This year will make it 19 years together. We met when I was 18. So, it is now a little more than 1/2 my life time I have spent with him. He is 27 years older than me. You didn't mention your age or how long you have known this man. I would say, as with any relationship, take it slowly. Ritchie and I were friends 1st, talking on the phone for hours, being there for each other in hard times and then our relationship grew. I don't really believe in age as a number. I put that in the category with labels and I don't think people fit neatly into a box with a label on it. Love is love, it is all consuming, it is calming , it fulfills you and it can hurt you. Only you can make the decision if the man is right for you- regardless of age. Don't feel lost, it would be like making a decision about anyone...it is always hard to know if they are the right one. So, again, go slowly... you will see truth- and truth wears no age. If he is right for you - eventually you will know...no numbers involved.
Good luck...and your English is excellent!
Love ,
Candice

Dear Candice!
I was thinking a lot of time, what can I tell you. And after few hours I realized that I have no idea! Of course, I can talk about my fascinating in your music, your brilliant magic lyrics... But all people can tell you something like this. Maybe some excuse will be that I'm still learning English and I'm sure here are many mistakes (so sorry for them ;) ).
First of all, I have to ask you - please, come to Poland soon! I'm 18 and I'm dreaming about listening you not from CD or DVD...
And one more question - what is this song during Home Again on the latest DVD? That about drink... And of course innocent girls ;)

Kisses for You and Ritchie
Olga

Hello Dear Olga!
Thank you for your sweet words! Wonderful news! We will be coming to Poland this year! I love your country...and am so excited to be coming back there. For specific information on the date and venue check blackmoresnight.com tour page. Ah, I do believe that you are referring to the drinking song that our wonderful Bard David of Larchmont sings so well. It is actually called Drink Drink Drink and was originally done by Mario Lanza from the Student Prince. It is a fun song for everyone to get involved with and of course includes Ritchie's favorite past time...drinking!
See you in Poland!
Love and light,
Candice

Hello.
I have been a fan of Deep Purple and Rainbow since I was a young teenager, and in general, am a classic hard rock fan. I absolutely love the music of Blackmore's Night, and the musical dexterity of this particular group, and of course, I absolutely love your soft and graceful voice. I have read some of your interviews on the internet, and I am mystified by a couple of things you have said.

Firstly, you have siad that "many towns have Renaissance faires, yet it's the unspoken rule that no one admits to going to them." Why is that?
Secondly, you have stated that seeing so many people dress up in period costume during a Blackmore's Night performance, you are "surprised how many people have tights hanging up in their closets" and "whether they admit to it is a wholly different thing" So what is it that you find puzzling? Is it how many people enjoy fantasy and role play in general? Or is it the amount of men that are willing to dress up in period costume and tights and participate in a historical role play? Or something else?

Thanking you. I aim to see Blackmore's Night liv

Hello,
My you have done your research! I'm glad that you are enjoying our music...OK- let's start with the first question. I think that unfortunately in this society, and probably many others, it is considered uncool to be different, to stand out in a crowd. People don't seem to commend you for it, they seem to want to stay away and label you "strange"- a title which personally I think is a wonderful thing. I want people to see that there are different ways to think, dress, live, create...and to absorb those things and celebrate them and ultimately find their own mixture of all the various ways to incorporate into their own lives. So, when people mention something as alternative as Renaissance Faires, although millions of people in the USA alone go to them per year...for some reason it still seems to be looked upon as a way of life that is locked in the back drawer. Yet you hear about going whatever the latest fad club is or wearing the latest Prada/Blahnik name brands or having to watch the newest installment of Sex in the City or whatever is cool to watch now. It baffles and infuriates me because I love going to these faires and I know so many others do too...but it seems to be this hidden society. I've even heard Faires mocked on Will and Grace and the gilmore girls! Why? I don't get it... So the Faires and all they stand for are well known enough to be acknowledged by these Hollywood writers, but why are they so threatened by the fact that they are "different" that they need to mock? I suppose its better that they are not "in vogue" - if they became "fashionable" then they would become more commercial and Hanna Montana or Rhianna would be dressed in wenches garb and it would take all the individuality out of them. And that is what we love about them in the 1st place.... I just wish they got the respect they deserve!
As for your second inquiry...That interview line was tongue in cheek as are many of the answers I give off the cuff of the puffy sleeve as it were...I happen to really appreciate men who wear tights. They're either very brave or very proud! I think that more people should wear these outfits not just confined to faires, but everywhere! They make all the men appear so chivalrous and women know that bodices and long skirts are very flattering on every figure... Imagine a world where we all wore these outfits all the time? I think everyone looks better in garb!
I do hope that we play near you so you can see us perform...and wear your tights.
Always,
Candice

Beautiful Candy!
Just, please, tell me how do you fight with madness which appearance when you go so deep into the music..I am a classical guitar player (love R.B. of course!) and when I digging throughout my mind to find what is hidden so deep inside, just can't go on, because is so scary down there...Well,maybe that is a difference between Ritchie and all of us? Hope U know what I am talking about...Anyway, it was great to see you in Belgrade last year! Just can't wait to see you again! Love!
Ika,Serbia

Dear Ika,
They say that madness is creativity without a outlet. You have the oulet...it is the music. You need the darkness to appreciate the light. Life is a roller coaster of emotions, and some of them, even deep within yourself, can be scary- as if they were bred from a stranger. But you can use that as it is all a part of you. Or you can choose to lock that away and deal with it when you have the strength. The best part of it is knowing you have the power to make that choice. It is yours to deal with if, when and as you please. Use it wisely. It is all the different facets of the face of reality. Not always pretty, shadows make it more interesting- but always true...
Hope to be back in Belgrade soon! We LOVED it and had a wonderful time...
Love and light,
Candice
