Dear Candice,
I have recently listened to your first two albums
(Shadow of the moon and under a violet moon) and I
must say that I absolutely loved them, you have great
lyrics and music and your voice is also very nice.
I love the songs Writing On The Wall and No Second
Chance, they're really good. Listening to Blackmore's
Night is a good change from rock and heavy metal I
listen to, such as Rainbow and Deep Purple, which
I know Ritchie was in =) He is my favourite guitarist,
I was wondering if he ever sings? I also wanted
to ask if you and Ritchie will be making any
other albums in the near future, cos I would love
to listen to them.
I also wanted to ask if you roleplay, cos you seem
like a person that would, and if you want I can give
you a URL to a site I'm currently working on and have
almost finished, it would be really great if you could
join it, it would mean a lot to me. Maybe you could
even get some ideas for lyrics there too =)
From Your Loyal Fan, Michael.
Hello Michael,
Ritchie is my favorite guitarist too! His choice of
notes and the way that the music just flows from him
is really amazing to witness, be it on stage or around
the house!
He hums while he is playing. Actually, sometimes the
producer has to tell him to stop humming while we
are recording his playing because it comes through
on the microphone. But when he sings, he sings only
for me, in private. He has a really great voice and
can hit a low range. But he never does it publicly.
Still, the way he plays guitar I guess he doesn't
need to sing...
We have 5 albums out now. Besides the 2 you mentioned
there is also Fires At Midnight; Past Times WIth Good
Company which is our double live cd; and Ghost of
a Rose will be released in the US on 8/26/03.
I have never officially participated in role playing,
although I guess you could say that I do role playing
almost everyday during the regular course of my life.
I do have a lot of friends that are involved in gaming
androle playing and they swear by it.
I am sure that it could be very creatively inspirational...
Thanks for your questions!
Love,
Candice

Hi Candice,
Michigan has it's own festival every year. Is
there any chance you and Ritchie would ever consider
a visit?
Russell
Hi Russell,
Believe it or not, Ritchie and I actually talk about
going to the Michigan Faire every year and have yet
to see our plans through. We've made it to the Arizona
Faire, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Tuxedo New York,
New Jersey, Largo- Florida and Deerfield Beach- Florida
Faires as well as some of the smaller ones like Sands
Point, Huntington Long Island, etc. I believe that
Owain Phyfe and the New World Renaissance Band
perform at the Michigan Faire and we have quite a
few of their cds and have always wanted to see them
perform live. Plus we have heard so many great things
about that faire, so now its just the matter of finding
the time to travel there and booking the flights!
Perhaps this year... we'll see!
Love,
Candice

hello Candice,
my name is Aaron, i live in wisconsin. Im 16 yrs old
and I just got introduced to your music and i think
its probably some of the greatest stuff ive ever heard.
i listen to all kinds of music and this is on the
top of the list for me. I also noticed how pretty
you are. You are a very beautiful woman and i wish
you had more pictures on your site, thanks anyways
for having a questions thing on your site. Do you
plan on making ventures into the states any time soon?
Love,
Aaron
Hello Aaron,
Thanks for writing and for the sweet words. We have
some more pictures on the official band site at
www.blackmoresnight.com
with promo pictures, live photos as well as personal
ones. And we took so many new pictures on our last
tour I'll be sure and get some more up here for you
soon! We do have just 2 dates right now booked for
the US. One in New York and one in Pennsylvania on
September 17th and 19th. The new album Ghost of a
Rose is due out on August 26th and then we are looking
into some more dates in the US either at the end of
the year or the beginning of next year. It becomes
kind of difficult in the US because the promoters
are so taken by what is being played on the radio.
It would be easy to play rock venues because of
Ritchie's past , but we want to be booked in theaters
so that it makes is special for the people who come
to see us. We want to try to transport them to another
time and place...to create a bit of magic which is
difficult to do in a rock venue. So, we don't look
for the easy way out- we strive for something better.
Unfortunately, that puts some promoters off. It is
a shame, really because there are so many places in
the US we'd love to play. The funny thing is, there
are so many fans asking when we are going to play
in the US and we are looking forward to it- it always
seems to be those narrow minded people making the
decisions that stand between us. We are working on
other venues and options for the states so as soon
as I hear anything more, I'll be sure to post it on
the tour page on
www.blackmoresnight.com
Otherwise, I hope you'll travel to one of the
confirmed dates to see us and join in the merriment!
Love,
Candice

Candice, when you tour the
u.s., please, please come to pittsburgh, pa. I have
seen Ritchie every time that he has been in town since
1980, except for the last Blackmores night tour. Ritchie
is my favorite musician, and Blackmores night is my
favorite band. Thank you and Ritchie for giving me
the change and new direction of music that i probably
would never have listened to otherwise, Also my 10yr
old daughter Annastacia, who has a mild case of cerebral
palsey, is a huge, huge fan of the music (home again
especially), and is a very huge fan of yours.
thank you for the music and joy that you have given
not only myself, but my children also. Robert
Harsh

Hi Candice,
I've bought my first CD from Blackmore's Night - Shadow
Of The Moon - just 2 weeks ago and I'm now captivated.
Your music touched my soul and I feel that something
has changed. Thanks for bringing me some magic.
I would like to have the lyrics of your musics, but
the recorder company did not include them in Brazil,
is there any place where I can find them? If you ever
need a friend in Brazil, please feel free to write
me.
Love and light,
Ricardo
Hello Ricardo,
Thank you for your compliments, friend. There is so
much magic to be found in certain music, I am glad
you have found it on ours. Welcome!
Although the record companies are supposed to include
the lyrics with the booklet in the cd, sometimes they
fail to do so. I don't know why that is...There is
a page with all of the lyrics of the songs that we
have written which is on the official Blackmore's
Night website. You can get there by going to
www.blackmoresnight.com
and
then clicking on the "lyrics" section on
the index. The lyrics for Ghost of a Rose will be
up soon! I hope you enjoy them.
Love,
Candice
