I can say i've been enjoying your music for a long time.. But yesterday (Mestre - Italy) it was the first time i've seen u live. I've never took a look at your website (both of them) nor to myspace's but i've always enjoyed your music since the day i've discovered u by chance.

I've been listening to u for a long time so I was totally prepared to that kind of music and to Ritchie's guitar skills (great). One thing I'd never imagined. One thing shocked me so deeply: you! The way u alway smile, your friendly talk, your movement!! U were really enjoying the show, u seemed happy to be there, singing for us, and this happiness went down as a flow from the stage running over us all! It was not the music only: your way of performing made me feel like part of the group, like an old friend u were performing in front of! I can say I had two things in mind after the concert:

1: She is one of those girls u can pass months talking with, she really communicate her good feelings to ppl!

2: Omg! HE never smiles!!!!!

Keep up with your attitude!

These are my boring words, but still I'm writing them cause I have this strange idea that u will apreciate them :P Anyway, u earn a old/new fan yesterday, in the healtiest way u could :P

Now it comes the question. I live by the countryside, by the hills. I grew up surrounded by nature, so I feel very close to feelings and imagines spurting from your music: I just close my eyes and dream, while sitting on the grass under a tree.. sun and birds around!

Please suggest me some other way to be more in deep inside this kind of feelings: personal suggestions, books, other musicians.

Thx u for your (braves) effords: your music really makes me dream

PS: apoligies for my (not perfect) english.

Hello Fabio,

I'm so glad you enjoyed the show. Your words are not boring! I think it is very interesting to hear your perceptions... I'm glad we earned a fan! Welcome...
I think you already know how to be deep inside these feelings without me telling you. The only songs you need to hear are the wind through the grasses and trees, the song birds singing and the crickets at evening. All you need to read is the sun fading in the sky at twilight, the faces in the stones and in the mountains. Take your shoes off and feel the grass beneath your feet. And if it moves you, bring a journal and write about how it makes you feel. Draw the beauty... you can't capture it- nor should we as humans be able to "capture" natures beauty- it is too vast... But you can record your perceptions of it. See what melodies the wind is playing for you... The answers are all around you and the thoughts you experience will be all your own, not what someone else tells you about in a book... Just enjoy the beauty of nature all around you. That is the gift in itself...

Much love,
Candice

Dear Candice,

Do you think the majestic uniform from magiquest is a good costume so I can be a princess like you?

Dear Victoria,

I think that is a wonderful costume. If you send me a picture of you wearing it I will post it in the Fan Faire section of our Blackmores Night website.
Though, I think you are already a princess.

Much love,
Candice

Dear Princess Candice,

Hi, I am a huge fan of MagiQuest. I love the stuff you do for MagiQuest, its just very good. I love getting your enchanted jewels back from the goblin king! I hope you do more for MagiQuest in the future.

My question is not MagiQuest related though, it about your concerts. I planning on attending your upcoming show in charlotte,nc , in october. I am just worried about costume, on the dvd and pictures you guys put out, everyone is wearing costumes. I am just worried that will I show up at the theatre and will be the only one in costume. Not that I dont like to dress in costumes its just I am a little nervous. Also I dont know where to find a costume, online they are like $39 and up. Your advice?

Your Loyal and Faithful Magi,
Tocpe, Master of Dragons!
Owner of Tocpe's MagiQuest Domain Fansite.

Hello Magi Tocpe,

Thank you for returning my jewels! Actually, I have just heard that Magiquest will be sponsoring a Blackmore's Night concert in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. So we are all very excited about that. Magiquest and I have more surprises planned for the near future. We will be doing more levels of quests together and will probably begin shooting the video screens for shortly. They are working on the story line right now.

As far as costumes, I promise you that you will not be the only one dressed in costume, though that is a common fear of people seeing us for the 1st time. The only regrets people have when they come to the shows is if they didn't get dressed up! You will be amongst others who will be in garb, don't worry. My advice as far as a costume goes is even if you make it out of things around the house, or buy bits and pieces at 2nd hand stores, whatever you wear it should reflect you. Make sure your individuality shines through. I always tell the girls to just put on a peasant shirt, a long skirt, some big hoop earrings and a scarf in your hair and there is a perfect peasant costume! Guys can get a lace up top at any gothic shop or even Macy's has them now! A big belt with metal studs, found at many of the teenage girls clothing shops and leggings at any sports store. Add a floppy hat and your a Renaissance peasant! It really is all about whatever you make of it.

Let your imagination go wild...

Have fun!

Love and Light,
Candice

Hello Candice,

I want to write you and tell you what an amazing voice you have and what a great band Richie and yourself have created. My wife and I watched your DVD once again last evening for the umtenth time and we get so much joy from it. I surely wish that you could come and play in the Dallas area. We have the Scarborough Faire in Waxahachie, Tx which is fairly close to Dallas and it would be such a privelige to see you, Richie and the rest of the band and to possibly meet the two of you. Do you expect to release on CD the audio from your DVD? I have been a big Richie fan for years and have many Deep Purple and Rainbow CDs and have all of the CDs from Blackmore's Night with the exception of the romantic CD but intend to purchase that as well. Please consider playing in Texas sometime as I am sure that you have a wide fan base here as well as all over the world. Oh, and by the way "Happy Birthday" belated. I really hope to hear back from you and please continue to put out the wonderful music so that we can all enjoy.

Blessed be,
Randy

Dear Randi,

How sweet! Thank you for your kind words...

We are working on US tourdates for the fall so I do hope that we will be around your area! I have heard such wonderful things about the Renaissance Faire you have in Texas and would love to experience it for myself...

Although we didn't release the audio to Castles and Dreams as a cd, the good news is that our latest DVD, which is in the mastering stages right now, of our show in the Olympia in Paris will have an audio cd of most of the tracks released.

The date is coming close for the release of the DVD and we'll be sure and let you know when it hits the streets so you can get copies right away!
Thanks again for your question and hope to see you in Texas!

Love and light,
Candice

Candice,

I am a musician, and a longtime fan of Richie's work. I am also a huge renaissance fan, and enjoy reading and learning about that time period, and reading fantasy works. I am new to the music of Blackmore's Night, and I am really exited about opening up to this music. What listening advice would you give someone new to your music as far as what your recommendations are for purchasing? Should I listen to the albums in order, or is there a special song or album I should start with? Also, do you have any future plans to tour near the Carolina's?

Yours Musically,

Aaron Grogan
North Carolina, USA

Hello Aaron,

Welcome to the family! I really think that each of the albums we have created over the past 10 years all have a distinctive style and individuality to them.
So it's difficult for me to choose which album or song you should start with. It also depends on your personal taste.

Since you are a fan of Ritchie's older songs and also of Renaissance times, maybe you should begin with the Village Lanterne so you can experience the mixture of Renaissance music like Mond Tanz together with our version of the Deep Purple classic Child In Time.

So that would actually mean that you are starting from our most recent album and working your way backwards. But they each have a bit of folk, rock, pop, renaissance, ballad, instrumental and tavern style music so I think you will find something on each cd that will be to your liking.

Yes, I do have some wonderful news about Carolina dates! It seems we will be coming to North Carolina and other venues in that area very shortly! Check www.blackmoresnight.com to see when! Hope to see you there!

Love and light,
Candice
