Dear Candice
At the age of 46 I have just discovered Blackmore's Night and I just had
to write to express my joy. The first album I bought
was Fires At Midnight and it left me completely
mesmerised by the wonderful music and the voice of
an angel that is Candice Night.
I have always enjoyed mystical and enchanting music
and have long been a fan of Irish legends Clannad.
Your music is of equal legendary status and I now
have all the CD's and DVD's that are available.
Your version of Diamonds And Rust is one of the most
emotional recordings I have ever heard and touches
me deep inside.
Candice, I really admire the way that you conduct
yourself on stage. The warmth, humour and love that
emanates from you is so genuine and makes the
concerts so special.
Good luck and best wishes to yourself, Ritchie and
all the minstrels. Ritchie and yourself make a
beautiful couple.
Christmas and New Year wishes to you all
Love always.
Paul Essex
Dear Candice
Thanks so much for the lovely Winter Carols album.
Your wonderful vocals and instrumentals really evoke
the authentic medieval atmosphere of Christmas, and
it’s great just to forget all the false
commercialism that is associated with Christmas
today and get into the true spirit. We would so love
it if you were to perform these beautiful carols and
songs at a Christmas concert in England, and
wondered if you had plans to do this. We would
certainly be there in medieval costume at the front,
singing and dancing along!!
My brother’s partner has been playing her copy of
Winter Carols at the school where she teaches first
and second year primary classes. Her pupils adore it
and are constantly asking her to play their
favourite tracks for them, so it would be lovely if
they too could come along to one of your concerts.
I hope this finds you and Ritchie and the rest of
the band in good health, and wish you all a
wonderful Christmas and a happy and prosperous New
Year.
Lots of love and best wishes to you all.
Veronica Howard

Dear Candice and Ritchie,
Wishing you both good health and happiness for 2008
and beyond.
Hope you both had a great Christmas.
From,
Diane

Hi Candice,
How are you? My name is Frederic. I'm French.
Thank you for the Paris Moon DVD. I don't really
have a question. I just write
to say hi, thanks, and to give you my impressions
about the DVD.
Well, I loved it!
Ritchie's touch was just magic, purer than a
diaphanous stream, more luminous
than a spectral moon overhanging the wooded hills.
During the break of "Durch
Den...", the three dudes were extraordinary; I was
flabbergasted at this very
catchy performance. The interpretation of "World of
stone" was sumptuous with
the Sisters' solo intervention at a certain point
which creates a great
thrilling effect. "Home again" was so cool, very
imaginative, my favorite moment
of the show – Bard David is a wonderful singer, I've
discovered that! What a
voice! It reminded me these juicy Marx Brothers
songs (Groucho was a talented
singer) and a bit of light opera. By the way, dear
Candice, I found you very
funny - maybe less side-splitting than a politician,
for other reasons, but
still very funny. You've got a lot of humor, just
like your band mates. It's
nice to see virtuoso musicians who don't take
themselves too seriously.
Also, I found the Village Lanterne video very cool,
with the Lady of the Lake
myth... It reminded me the works of Chretien de
Troyes that I love... Perceval,
the Grail, Yvain the knight with the lion, his lion,
Lancelot and so on.
I'm waiting for the next record.
Frederic, scribbler.
Hello Candice
We just received your new DVD Paris Moon this
evening; we have anticipated watching it so we
enjoyed a nice dinner at home then sat down with a
bottle of wine from the Chautauqua valley stoked up
the fireplace turned off all the phones so not to be
disturbed and watched the DVD. Needless to say it
was the most enjoyable evening we have had since our
faire ended back in August. The band sounded
exceptionally good, this was the first time we were
able to see The Village Lantern performed as it
should be... LIVE, I think it’s a safe assumption
that Elizabeth I would have been pleased
We were at PARF in October and were planning on
attending your show in York however me lady LeeAnn
developed a respiratory infection (sound familiar?)
and I had to bring her home to Rochester NY. She was
devastated that we missed the show so the DVD was a
nice surprise
We
are hoping you plan another performance next year in
either Pennsylvania or better yet in upstate NY
where your following grows by the day. The Sterling
Renaissance festival is our home faire and I can’t
begin to tell you how many fans you have in this
area. Carl Asch of the Empty Hats first turned us on
to you so we blame him for the passion we have
towards you and Ritchie
Peace and health be with you all
Larry & LeeAnn

Hi Candice,
Just wanted to thank you again for going out of your
way to get the picture for my new wife, Melissa. She
cried when she opened it.
We had a beautiful renaissance wedding at Hammond
Castle in Gloucester MA on September 29th. The
featured song during the ceremony way 'Once in a
Million Years', and our first dance at the reception
was 'Call it love'.
Our honeymoon was a romantic castle tour of
Scotland. A truly amazing trip.
The whole journey was completed last night, when we
traveled down to New York City to see you at the
Blender Theater. We sat in the 10th row, dressed in
our wedding garb, singing and clapping along.
I was so glad to finally meet Carole, and thank her
in person for her kindness and generosity.
You have fans, and friends, for life in us.
Sincerely,
Robert McClung

Despite beeing fan of
Deep Purple, Rainbow and so on for my whole life I'm
truly amazed to have discovered Blackmore's Night
just a week ago... But what a timing! One hour after
the love of my life moved away I heard you for the
first time ever, with Diamonds and Rust, and was
just blown away! Words can't explain the feeling of
how hard it hit me, the lyrics was as taken out of
my head not to mention the sadest and yet most
beatiful music I have ever heard... Followed by Way
to Mandalay, Waiting Just For You and Ghost of A
Rose it layed the perfect foundation for letting my
sorrow out. That night I listen throgh the six album
I had over and over again, making my tears of sorrow
fall equally along with tears caused by the beauty
and tendernes within your music. I'm sending you
this letter to let you know the fact that
Blackmore's Night has changed me in ways nothing
else could, and I truly and deeply thank you both
from the bottom of my heart!
Best of wishes and sincerly love from Jon R, Norway

Dear Candice,
First of all, I would like to thank you, Ritchie and
your band mates for ten
years of fantastic music. I bought "Shadows of the
Moon" when it first came
out hoping that I would enjoy it and not realizing
the wonderful journey I
was about to undertake through your music.
I am a firm believer of the power of music to bring
people together, as
music is the language of emotion and it connects
people in amazing ways.
As an artist, I am sure you appreciate it when you
know your gifts are
shared by many. Well, I would like to tell you of
one of your youngest
fans, my daughter Lorien. Lorien is four years old
and Blackmore's Night
has been her favorite music for the past two years.
When we are in the car,
she always asks for one of your CDs to be played.
We enjoy singing the
songs together. At home, we watch your "Castles and
Dreams" DVD all the
time. We hold hands and dance around the room and
she often falls asleep
before the end of the DVD, as she has tired herself
out
As a parent, it isn't easy finding music you and
your children can enjoy
together. As a life long music fan, I am thrilled
to share with my daughter
your music, which is very pure, heartfelt and
creative.
I purchased two tickets to the October 30th show at
the Strand in Lakewood,
NJ (it is a mere 20 minutes from my house and it
will be my third time
seeing your there). It was my intention to go to
the show with my husband,
however we decided we cannot deny Lorien the joy of
seeing you perform in
person, so I will be taking her, while Daddy will be
our chauffer. Lorien
understands she will be seeing you soon and is so
excited. Our seats are on
the aisle in the fifth row, so she will have room to
dance and sing. I
promise you I will hold her back, as she tells me
she wants to go on stage
and sing with you. Her favorite songs are "Under a
Violet Moon",
"Renaissance Faire", "Loreley" and "Past Time with
Good Company".
In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to
all of you for the
fabulous music you create and to tell you of the
gift of music you've given
a mother and her daughter to share together. Thank
you.
Sincerely,
Sharon Bachmann

Dear Candice-
I just wanted to let you know that my seven-year old
daughter and I attended the show in Charlotte on
Oct. 25 - we were about 3 rows back from the stage -
we both enjoyed your performance so much!! I could
tell you were overwhelmed by the response from the
audience!
You, Richie and the group have such a great dynamic
and I enjoyed all the interaction between you all! I
was overwhelmed myself to actually be that close to
Richie - he is one of my "guitar heroes" - it was so
wonderful to be able to see him play that close up!!
Thank you so much for bringing your beautiful music
to North Carolina - my daughter and I hope you will
be back soon!!

renaissance music.
Anyway, thanks to you and Ritchie I've been re
inspired and after the 2 year break I'm playing

Hello Candice,
I
just had to take this opportunity to email you
before we come to see you tomorrow night. We are
bringing our three-year-old, Arwen, to your concert
in Raleigh, which is a six hour drive for us. While
my husband is a fan, we are really coming just to
bring our daughter to see you. She loves you, and
of course, your music. When my husband watches one
of your concert DVD’s, Arwen rushes to the TV to see
“the fairy sing.” In the car, she sings to the top
of her lungs along with you. Her favorite song is
“Cartouche” and on some drives, we will literally
listen to it no less than six or seven times! She
has a small speech problem, so it is absolutely
adorable to hear her sing along. Recently she has
added “Under a Violet Moon” to her repertoire as
well.
I can’t tell you how excited we are to bring her to
the concert. It will be a real treat for my
husband, Jeff, to finally see Ritchie Blackmore, but
my favorite moments no doubt will be to see Arwen
enjoy some of her favorite music, with her favorite
singer!
Looking forward to seeing you.
Have a great day,
Kim Sergent

Dear Candice,
I am rather new to your music courtesy of my
friend who is really big
fan of yours. She and I will be at your concert
at House of Blues in
Chicago tonight. It is my very first concert to
see you. I love your
music! You are a very talented and beautiful
singer and artist. I made
something to give to you tonight but will need
to send it on later as it
is not finished. It will go to Blackmores
Night I am learning
calligraphy and Illumination. Danielle and I
will be "dressed" for the
occasion. Just look for two very perky wenches
(one on the "Piratey"
side ;-) )
I am so excited so....... A BIG WELCOME TO
CHICAGO!!! :-) :-D

Dear Candice!!!
I'm writing to you to share my emotions
after your concert in Ridgefield, CT
on Oct 5. That was my dream to see you
play live for a very long time. So me
and 2 friends of mine went there all the
way from Newport, RI. I didn't
expect that it would be so easy to see
the band members outside of the
theater. We took pictures with Bard
David, Squire Malcolm and Sir Robert. I
knew that Robert wasn't in the band
anymore. And also later in turned out
that he was sitting right in front of
us. He was saying something like
"What's the point? I'm not even in the
band anymore" :-) We really really
enjoyed the show!!! Such an incredibly
friendly atmosphere :-) And an
excellent choice of songs!!! During the
last few songs I went right to the
stage. And I managed to catch the
T-shirt from you :-) After the concert
we
were waiting for you and Ritchie hoping
to get an autograph :-) Meanwhile we
took pictures with the barrel that was
on stage. The guys already brought it
out in the street. Then we saw you and
Ritchie walking out. That was so
great that you came to us to take a
picture and you signed my new T-shirt
(with kisses to Russia) :-) And what was
really really kind of you that you
agreed to ask Ritchie if we could take a
picture with him!!!
Well anyway, Candice, I wanted to thank
you and Ritchie and all the band for
your wonderful wonderful music and for
the amazing concert, and for the
autographs and for the pictures with us,
for being so kind and for making my
dream come true :-)
Mikhail Kudenko
Dear Candice,
Not a question, but just a comment about
Ritchie's appearance on "Quest for
Rock and Roll" on CNN.
I wonder why certain people think that
Ritchie is miserable ?
I just loved the way he looked at
Ritchard Quest and laughed when he was
trying to play the riff to "Smoke on the
Water".
So Ritchie does have a sense of humour
!!!!

Dear Candice,
I just wanted to know if you have
received my e-mail I sent some weeks ago
:-).
Your music is just awesome, it's my very
favourite and always will be. I hope to
see you again next year, maybe even at
Schloss Burg...
I've been to Schloss Broich in August
and it was just a magic concert - thanks
again for that one :-).
And this is for Ritchie: Get well soon!
Yours sincerely

| Dear Candice, I am not sure if my first email
got thru due to problems with my email service
but here goes. I just wanted to thank you for
the beautiful music you and your band play. I
was introduced to you on you tube with your duet
with Helloween. I then discovered Blackmores Night
and it has had a huge impact on my life. I am
a disabled police officer and have had alot of
health problems and worries over the last three
years. I cannot begin to describe the peace and
tranqulity that your music has on me. But not
just me, but my two little boys. My three year
old dances to it when I play it and my three month
old smiles and kicks when I play "way to
mandalay". You have not only gained the three
of us as fans but my wife and mother-in-law as
well. I have ordered a few of your cds off the
internet and eagerly await them. I just wanted
to thank you and your band again for the positive
effect you have had on my whole family. The local
library actually had a copy of your christmas
cd and I am anxiously waiting to play some of
the songs during my sons christmas story time
party. Sincerely, Tom Wensyel and my whole family

Hi Candice.
My, oh my. I'm so in love with your voice and music
that it is hard to express it with words. Although,
I must say, you are the master of expressing your
feelings (?) with so simple words, but gathered
together they are just magical. Whenever I hear
your music, especially "Sake of song"
I just want to grab my tambourine, take all my friends
and go to the forest or on the journey around the
world, just like in the old times, when people travelled.
I have no idea how do you do that, but your music
touches the chord in me that i did not know even
existed. I guess it must be a part of me from different
incarnation. I just love it.
Of course, greetings from Poland.
Dagmara. |

hello candice,
I have written several times before never had received
a reply. A little saddened, but I understand. I
know that there are so many people from around the
globe whose lives you have touched with your music
and spirit. I have been messaging as well on myspace,
but never know if you receive any of those letters
or not. Either way, I just decided to write again
and let you know, of course with so many other's,
that you and your spirit, soul and music have touched
my life to a degree of a wonderful change that I
have found in myself. I'm not really one for googling
(yep, that's a word) over stars or musicians, however,
I don't consider it this when the person is such
a real one as yourself and ritchie. All I know of
you is your music, interviews, and the way you portray
your life to be and that is enough for me. There
is a consistancy within your life and spirit that
comes out in your smile and the words that you sing
to us all my friend. I hope that it is alright to
call you a friend, as I truly feel a kindred spirit
thru you and your music. Being a musician as well,
of course not at your level, mainly for myself and
others around, you have rebirthed a huge portion
of my own spirit in experiencing the wonderful music
that you write and share with us all. I truly don't
go thru very many days without one of your cd's
in my computer, listening to it all day long. There's
music and musicians and then there are true lovers
of what they do in their talent. I consider you
to be the truest of talents and in love with what
you have been blessed to do candice. There's not
a place that I don't enter where I haven't asked
people if they have heard of blackmore's night and
their music. Including our Michigan Holly renfest.
I have spread your music all around there to those
who have not yet heard of you. Trust me when I say
that, everyone will have heard of you by the time
I am finished. Looking so very forward to your Oct
12 2007 concert in Muskegon as well. No matter where
I am, in the back or the front (absolutely attempting
the front), I shall be happy just to be within the
same breathing air of such a wonderful group of
minstrels. adieu my sweet lady of light, and wonderful
mistress of the music. I shall only hope in my dreams
to be able to meet such a person that has influenced
my life for the better, to turn me towards music
that I have found to love just as much as yourself.
You are a true lady and wonderful person thru and
thru. I will see you soon in concert m'lady............

| Hallo Candice! By chance I stumbled across
your music and I have to say that it is wonderfully
beautiful. I subsequently came across your site
and found Desiderata. There is so much wisdom
in it that I had to copy it to the last pages
of my diary. There could be no better words to
close it.
It is as perennial as the grass; I hope to fully
realize that soon. But I know I will.
Thank you for being there!

My wife and I love the music and will be spending
a long weekend in Birmingham, England in June and
will be attending your show at the Alexandra Theatre
on the Sunday night. We have seen your concerts
on every tour since the first one in 2000; the music
was fantastic then and still is today. You are a
breath of fresh air and long may you continue to
make such stimulating sounds.
I simply have to tell you this; I have seen every
line up of Deep Purple and Rainbow spreading over
the past 35 years, and the other night went to see
the Purple, Styx, Thin Lizzy triple header at the
Arena in Nottingham. It was Styx that I was really
looking forward to seeing as apart from a couple
of gigs at small very distant theatres, they hadn't
done an arena since the early eighties. Lizzy were
brilliant and the talk was that Styx were blowing
Purple off stage at the previous gigs in Newcastle
and Manchester. Styx should have been on stage at
8.00 but surprisingly they had a major equipment
fail and only managed to get on at 8.50 to do three
numbers.
The reason becaome obvious; Purple were basically
useless; Morse did his best Ritchie impersonation,
Paice and Glover plod on regardless and Gillan looked
like a stick insect in clothes that hung on him.
The only person any good was Don Airey.
I think this comparison sums up the position; Blackmores
Night - innovative, creative and brilliant; Purple
- finished!!
Best Wishes and look forward to seeing you all in
Birmingham

Hi Candace,
I have been an enormously huge fan of Blackmore's
Night ever since I saw the group perform on PBS
television.
I am an artist, and would very much like to send
you a beautiful creation I have painted on silk.
If you can please tell me how to send the gift to
you, I will do so.
I'm hoping you will wear my scarf during a performance~!

Hello! My name is Whisper (and yes, that is my
real name). I would just like you to know that the
first time I heard your music I fell in love with
it. When I listen to your music it takes me to this
mystic world of magic. I know all the lyrics to
your songs and when I feel down, like I'm in the
deepest pits of despair, I can listen to your songs
in my head and that always makes me feel better.
Like you, I have been in choir (I even won medals
for singing!) and I also write! You were truly an
inspiration to me when I first heard your music,
but now that I know your history you truly inspire
me more! I want to become as great as a singer as
you and inspire people just as you did me. Your
words and your music has kept me going strong in
the most difficult times in my life. Thank you so
much! I do not know if you will except my gift,
but along with writing and singing I draw. Please
take these pictures as a token of appreciation for
everything you have done. I drew these while listening
to your music and they are truly the best pictures
I have ever drawn! One is Sleeping Beauty. The second
one is a married couple. The third one is a unicorn.
I hope you like them. I would also like for you
to read one of my best poems to see what you think.
I hope you enjoy everything! Thanks once again!

Hi Candice,
Years ago I went to see Rainbow in a small club
in Providence Rhode Island.
It was the "Stranger In Us All " tour,
and it was a fantastic night even though I did lock
my keys in the car, oh well....but when I ever heard
Blackmore's Night, it just blew me away, I can't
get enough. I've waited for every CD hoping it wouldn't
be the last. I have turned so many people on to
your music I've lost count. Every release has been
unbelievable, although like most I do have a favorite,
and that would be "Under A Violet Moon",
SIMPLY MAGICAL! I would love to see you come to
Providence or nearby.

My name is Shane Williams, I am 19 years old and
I live in the UK.
I recently moved away from Wales my country of birth
and I was really
disappointed that I couldn't see your amazing band
play in St. David's Hall
in Cardiff.
I have been a fan of Deep Purple for years, and
I have recently started to
listening to Rainbow as well, and i decided that
the next band I should
listen to is Blackmore's Night and it was a great
decision; your songs are
amazing! You have great lyrics and an absolutely
beutiful voice and it's
wonderful to hear the medieval instruments in modern
music.
I look forward to hearing more music from your great
band. Ritchie is such a
great guitarist and his new output is that much
better.
Your newest fan,

Hi Candice and Richie.
I hope you concert in Yeovil tonight went well.
My partner Sue and myself are seeing you tomorrow
night in Cardiff. It will be our first time to see
you. We have fallen in love with your music over
the last 2 years. We now have all your albums.
Our favourites are Ghost of A Rose and Shadow of
The Moon. We do not have a favourite track but love
your versions of 2 of our other favourite female
singers. Namely Joan Baez - Diamonds And Rust and
Annie Haslam - Ocean Gypsy.
Hoping one of these gets played, and if both we
will be singing and cheering.
Till tomorrow when we will be in your magical, musical
heaven

Hi Candice
Just a quick email to say how much I enjoyed seeing
you and Ritchie at St David's Hall in Cardiff a
few days ago. The concert was really great, and
it was wonderful to see the crowd dancing along
with you. Your voice is really lovely. It sounds
great on disk, but it's so much better hearing you
"live".
Ritchie amazed me - how he can remember all those
chords for a two-hour concert is remarkable, and
his playing is as good as it was 20 years ago.
I look forward to the next time Blackmore's Night
is in the UK. I hope it's not too long.
It was a shame there wasn't a programme done. Never
mind, I did enjoy your support band Gothian. Their
opening track was serious stuff. I knew then we
were in for a treat!
Thanks for a great evening.

Dear Candice,
My name's Stefano, I'm 24 and I'm writing from
northern Italy. My brother Alessandro and I were
at your show in Mestre last Saturday (28 April
2007). We both touched your hand twice and your
smile struck our minds! You are an Angel! It was
a theatre but more then once we stood up and came
singing under the stage. We didn't want to wash
our hands after touching yours! ;-)
Your music means so much to me!
-Thanks for Everything-

Hi Candice & Ritchie
I have a very interesting story for you and I swear
to you it is true. My wife and I have been to 3
of your concerts on your current UK tour. We always
dress in period costume and enjoy the atmosphere.
On the day of the first concert we attended at York
my wife made a garland of flowers and ivy that she
always wears. In the garland she put a white rose
as Ghost of a rose is one of our favourite songs.
After York we moved on to Reading where she had
to renew all the flowers except the white rose which
was as fresh as the day it was picked. After Reading
we went to Birmingham, this time the flowers and
the ivy needed replacing but the rose was still
completely fresh. At the end of the Birmingham concert
you played Ghost of a Rose as an encore. As Ritchie
played the first notes of the song two petals of
the rose fell to the floor, and by the time the
last words of the song had left your lips the last
petals had fallen. I promise you this is a true
story and it sends shivers down our spines to think
it. We are going to Brighton to the last concert
of the tour and my wife will be wearing a new white
rose picked fresh from our garden. Thanks for all
the wonderful music.
Regards Tony & Tina |

I help Evil Angels with pros, jobs etc.
Unfortunately the lead guitarist is hoocked on
pathetic Angus Young.
I am Ritchie B.
But seeing you, you are better that Ian and Ronnie.
And maybe mr Glenn H.
Def better than that Whitesnake voc.

Dear Candice,
Sorry if these pictures are too big. Just wanted
to share with you. We were all so excited to finally
meet you at the Faerie Festival. That was such a
special moment for us and we wanted to share the
pictures. The whole Law family wishes you a wonderful
and magical birthday! That is me (Scott), Thea,
Ian (16) and Maddy (9). Ian was named after a flute
player friend of yours and he plays flute and guitar!
Maddy was named after Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span.
I think you mentioned them once - if you are interested
- try "Parcel of Rogues" or "Below
the Salt" for some great Steeleye Span CDs.
We have seen you several times in concert and had
always hoped to meet you, but never did, but you
did not disappoint the other day. You were as sweet
and magical as we thought you would be. You certainly
made my day! I was absolutely thrilled to meet you.
Ian was so quiet but he was really blown away too.
Hopefully we can see you there again next May! We
frequent the Maryland Renaissance Festival every
fall and I even invited you a few years ago. It
is a great place and you'd love the atmosphere.
Lots of permanent buildings. Of course we always
play Blackmore's Night on the ride there and back!
If you played the Ram's Head Tavern in Annapolis.
It is not far at all from the MD RenFest which runs
till mid October.
You make all our lives so much nicer Candice. So
many of your songs touch my heart so deeply. It
really helps whenever I get down. It is nice to
have music made for people like us who love the
Renaissance and magic in life. Your version of "Diamonds
and Rust" is perfect. Wow! The other day "Now
and Then" had me crying it was so beautiful.
There are simply too many to list all my favorites.
Thanks so much for making the world more beautiful
with your music and spirit! Happy Birthday! I wish
you love and light for the whole year! Please keep
singing to us and we'll keep showing up dressed
for the occasion!
We Love You!

| Hello Candice,
I'm a fan from Barcelona, Spain, and I'm in love
with your music. I was pianist before, I studied
all the degree, but unfortunately I suffered a
"distony" in my right hand and I no
longer can play the piano. This was very hard
for my because music was my life. But if that
was not enough, a time afterwards I was diagnosed
as having "delusional disorder". This
fact made me lose some friends who didn't understand
this problem, this illness. I never did anything
bad, but this friends rejected me anyway. This
have been very painful for me, because I loved
much to all of my friends. But thank God, I discovered
your music. Your music alleviates my pain, it
makes me feel happy. When I listen to your music,
I feel a party in my heart, I feel comforted,
your music is part of my life. I want to thank
you for such a great music, with so much taste
and musical sense. I think you have a wonderful
voice, so sweet and pleasant. I'm lucky to have
discovered your music. I wonder if you will come
to Barcelona with the Blackmore's night some day.
I would be at your concert very happy! I will
look at your web often to see if you come to Spain
some day. Thanks for all.
Kisses,
your delusional friend |

Hi Candice - my husband and I are travelling 450
miles each way to be at your concert in Glenrothes
on June 10th. It will be our first (and hopefully
far from last!) Blackmore's Night gig and, as big
fans, we're really excited about it. . .eight days
and counting!!!!
I know that you are very involved and interested
in faerie and environmental issues and that interest
(which I share by the way) leads me to ask about
your spirituality.
Hubby and I might be amongst your most 'elderly'
fans at 58 yrs old but we're none the less enthusiastic
so at Glenrothes, look out for the 'senior' lady
in purple cape and floral chaplet who will be fulfilling
a dream!
Oh. . . and let me just take the chance to say many,
many thanks for the hours of pleasure your music
has given us. We never go anywhere without at least
one Blackmore's Night cd for company!

Hi Candice,
I wanted to share a story that I know you'll appreciate.
The little synchronicities of life. By the way,
hope you had a great tour. I've no doubt you did.
My husband has an alarm clock (a back up one, it's
new) and he hasn't quite figured how to get the
alarm to shut off. For some reason everyday at 12
noon it goes off. Today it went off at 12 and at
a few minutes after 3 pm. But the alarm wasn't beeping
it's usual tone(at 3), it was playing Happy Birthday!
So after the third round of Happy Birthday to you,
I said aloud, all right already I get the message,
it's someone's birthday. But who?
No one in my family has a birthday in May. So, I
started thinking outside of my immediate circle,
then it hit me. You have a birthday coming up. It
was so--wonderfully magickal-- that as soon as I
realized it, the music stopped.
Happy Birthday, a little early. Brightest Blessings
always!
Love and Light,
Ellen Thompson |

Hello,
first something off topic: I'm german so excuse
my bad english :(
Today I was pretty down, I write my exams in
7 days and I was learning...
I wasn't doing good and I saw, that I will have
much problems next week.
I thought that this would be a nice moment to
make a short brake and check my email. A good
friend of me which I told some weeks ago on a
black night that I heard a wonderfull voice but
I can't remember who it was, wrote me an Email
with the Link to download the WMA stream of just
call my name. And this was exact this song and
this wonderfull voice that I told him.
I don't know how he knew it but he did.
Now I'm sitting two full hours in front of my
PC and listen to this song.
I have to say THANK YOU this Band and this voice
is one of the most perfekt and wonderful sounds
I heard in the last 18 Years (my Age).
Please go on Like this

| Dear Candice,
in my understanding, music has a special task.
It must take the listener on a journey to the
place beyond the skies. A place of harmony and
clarity. Creating music means becoming one with
the universe. Musical ideas are transcendental
elements, they are waiting for energies, that
could bring them together and transforming them
into songs. These songs are timeless, intimate
expressions of musician’s mind.
Ritchie and especially you have got this unique
ability to create this particular kind of music.
Thank you so much for the extraordinary listening
experience.

Candice,
Thanks for performing at the Spoutwood Farm Faerie
Festival this year. Having you there made a great
festival extra special. The funny thing is now every
time I play Under a Violet Moon, I have to stop
the music 2 or 3 times in the middle. I wonder why.
Thanks again for having you picture taken with Melissa
and for being such a great role model. Girls her
age really need that.
If you'd like I'll send some copies of the pictures
to your email once they are developed.
Hope to see you in concert soon.

Hello, Candice!
My name is Lilia, I am 15 years old, I am from Kazan,
Tatarstan republic
in Russia. Firstly I want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
with many smiles
and a lot of other good wishes. I have been wanted
to write you for 1.5
years, but I am doing this only now. Two years ago
my father brought
Blackmore’s Night DVD. I often find something
new in your songs; even I
have been listened to them for a long time. The
music of Blackmore’s
Night always rise my mood, it led me to composing
a piano rondo called «The Sleeps of Ireland»
that got the first place in «The young composers
competition». A year ago I finished a music
school. Now I am preparing
for exams in Music colledge. Thank you for your
amazing songs, they help
me to stay in a positive mood! And sorry for my
boring English, I study
it only at school. Of course I wanted to write you
more than this
letter, but I am typing very slowly, especially
in English, and I have
to go to bed.
P.C. My brother Tim is a guitar player &
he sends regards to you and to
Ritchie, of course :)))
Smiling
Lilia. |

Dear Candice,
I wish you dawns and sunsets, whisper of waves,
white clouds and bright rainbows, blue butterflies,
daffodils in green grass...All of that is so wonderful
in the world, as wonderful as your songs are. So,
happy birthday, and let everything around bring
you inspiration.
And please, do come in Russia. O:-)
With love, Alexandra |

Dear Candice,
I just want to wish you a truly happy birthday.
I wish you lots of love, happiness, and inspiration.
Thank you for all the music, wisdom and inspiration
you bring to my life.

Hello,
I want to thank you for your music. It has helped
me to carry on when I had rough times. I was once
about to kill myself but somehow I (musicmatch randomly
selected song "Soldier of Fortune") heard
your song soldier of fortune... I suddenly saw visions
of how killing myself would affect my relatives
and especially my mom, dad and sister. So thank
you so much(I can't tell you how much, it's so huge
amount:D ), your music is like "black matter",
it keeps world not to fall apart. And please come
to Finland some time.
All the best wishes,
Janne A. |

Hello there Candice
How are you?I hope you are fine.I have no words
to say what I feel when I listen to your beautiful
and sweet voice,it´s some kind of feeling
that no word can express, I just feel it!
And Blackmore, he is a true master, a true musician,
he´s amazing!!
Unfortunately I live in Brazil(yees!..no knights,no
castles,no kings,no medieval age!...), I guess that
is my only regret of having been born here, but I
hope so that one day you will arrive here and sing
with your sweet voice to us! Hope never dies!
Keep up the excellent work, take care..
...and see you around....I hope so..=)
bye bye
Marcelo from Brazil. |

Hello Candice!
I just like to thank both of you for your great
music.
Quite near my birthplace there is a more than seven
century old monastery. I like to go for a walk there,
always wondering what a place like this could tell
about past times and people. In this often grey
and cold world, searching for the own place, it´s
helping to drift away in other times. So does hearing
your voice, too, while beeing home.
I hope to see you on tour in Germany soon.
All the best!

Hi Dear Candice,
We are so happy to celebrate the 10 years together
in the Live show of Blackimore's Night in Bulgaria.
Thanks for all of you for giving us this unbelievable
spectacle!
It was so nice to remember the previos visit which
was ... nearly 8 years ago.
Although I couldn't visit the first, I saw presentation
from that show on the national TV in 1999 (Krechetalo).
Greetings for the idea to compile and sing the Christmas
songs in the last album Winter Carols, and of course
for the new version of the video clip of the song
Christmas Eve.
Hope to see you again someday!!!
Love and light to You, Ritchie and all of your minstrels!
Best wishes,
Dimitar,

| Hello Candice!
I felt the magic...the midnight fires were burning...April's
reign was ablaze...and out of the cooling embers,
the enchanting month of
May was born...
Ah, 'twas wonderful ringing in May Day with you
on Sunday. Spoutwood is an amazing place...Kubiando!
I must tell you...your positive energy was in
the air, long before your arrival! I heard many
a conversation that spoke of meeting you
last year...your magical songs...your kindness...and
how your inner beauty matches your outer beauty...
Your performance was amazing - you gifted us with
The Village Lanterne! - and Kathy shined right
along side of you! As I made my way through the
crowd, the most incredible feeling washed over
me as my voice was not alone in joining yours.
Your presence...your moonlit magic...it reaches
out and touches so many...
Aw, and you made mine and Sapphire's day extra
special by having her join you both on stage and
at the May Pole!! She hasn't stopped talking about
you, the magical scarf you gave her, and the copy
of Fires that Carole gave to her. I thank both
of thee, very much.
At the close of the festival, I listened as the
faeries reminisced...they spoke warmly of you...told
of the dreams you made come true...wished out
loud for tour dates in the east...spoke of the
music...and of your gorgeous cover poster for
Faerie Magazine. Honestly, all of this touched
me deeply and made me feel proud...that's my moon
sister they were talking about...
Birthdays and wishes...
I love celebrating birthdays! While every day
beholds magic, I believe each of us are gifted
with our own special day of magic - and what better
day than the the day we celebrate another year
lived on this amazing planet! Our gifts...like
leaves on a tree...will never be two in the same,
but the magic is there...just waiting to be found...
Our wishes for you...
May the beauty of each season forever inspire
you...leave you in awe...have your poetry flow
from it...
May the the starlight...moonlight...take your
hand and guide you from month to month...
May the cool rains and breezes find you dancing
in them...then have the sun shine upon you and
warm your soul...
May the scents of the earth forever stir nostalgic
memories of childhood...
May your daydreams fly on dragonfly wings into
the night...
May love, wisdom and good health always embrace
you...
And most of all...May the month of May always
gift you with magic on your special day...
You truly are an inspiration to people, Candice.
Your songs touch people..they heal hearts...give
hope...sing of love, nature and the earth's mysteries.
People often say that the music you and Ritchie
create makes this world a better place to be in.
I'm sure there are times when wearing this crown
can be stressful, but you never lose sight that
your songs are deeply loved and that in turn keeps
your inner light shining. Shine on, my friend,
and Happy Birthday!
With love, dreams and magic,
Melissa and Bruce

Dear Candice, thank you for all the feelings that
you gave, are giving,
and will keep on giving us: the poetic and romantic
soul that you have
is the same that marks out our life. We will follow
you anywhere you
want to take us, even in the Renaissance times...
Happy Birthday, your Italian fans, Gaetano and Donatella |

Happy Birthday Ms. Night. May you enjoy the day
with friends and joyous festivities. And to you
I wish many more. If I had a drink right now I would
raise a toast to you. I promise to do so the next
time I have a drink.
May I also say that I really love the latest cd
and can't get enough of it. I can't say if I have
a favorite song, but I have to say the vocals on
Mond Tanz/Child In Time really stand out to me.
The harmony is almost haunting (I think that's the
word I'm looking for), but fantastic.. I also like
the new arrangement of Street Of Dreams as well.
I don't feel there is a bad song on this cd. Bravo
I say. Hazzah! (spelling?)
Well, I have babbled enough. Enjoy your special
day. I look forward to catching Blackmore's Night
on tour later this year.
A Friend In Time,
Dan Gau
PS Ghost of a Rose is now playing on my computer.
That is one of my favorite songs of yours. |

Dearest Candice,
Hope you have a wonderful birthday, and throughout
the rest of the year
as well. It was a wonderous pleasure seeing you
at Spoutwood's Fairie
Festival this past Sunday (5/6/2007). Thanks for
allowing me to take so
many photos. And thanks so much for the autographs...
my son loved
having his shirt signed. I had to drag him away
from the "Castles and
Dreams" DVD when it was bedtime Sunday night...
I imagine he would have
stayed up watching it all night until he could no
longer keep his eyes
open. Hope to see you all on tour later this year
(I'm keeping my
fingers crossed for a Baltimore, MD/Washington DC
show). Again, best
wishes to you on your birthday, and send greetings
and well wishes to
Ritchie as well.
Take care, Love and Light,
Kurt Harvilak |

Hello dear Lady Candice!
I am a 27 year old woman from Germany who lives
in Bonn, near our mighty Father Rhine. It is a very
beautifull place to live, because there are seven
famous hills nearby, which are called the"Siebengebirge".It
is a very special and mystical place to just be
and to walk around, the hills are all covered with
a wonderfull,fairytale-like deep forest,my favourite
place to go when I need to calm down from my job
(I am a nurse)and to clear my mind is an old castle
ruin dated back to the 12th century,it is called
"Löwenburg".I love to sit there beneath
a tree and to enjoy an amazing view about the River
Rhine and green wooded hills hearing the wind whisper
in the trees and branches, the river below me sparkling
like a million stars (when the sun shines!)simply
being myself for a moment. The whole ground breathes
medievial times,if I had to name a song from you
which would catch the mood in this place I think
it would be "Faery Queen". You and Ritchie
should really go there the next time you are in
Germany,I believe you will love it as much as I
do,the whole ground breathes medievial times.I also
want to tell you that I love your music, it inspired
me (together with the music of another extraordinary
singer,Loreena McKennitt)to start taking singing
lessons almost two years ago.I have the greatest
respect for everyone who sings because now I really
know what hard work it means, both physically AND
mental to really sing a song how it deserves to
be sung,to bring out amd to express its soul to
put it it into the heart of your audience.I have
a very bright soprano but sometimes I am still afraid
to sing in front of to many people,I have the feeling
my voice sounds to thin and that I am not able to
controll my breath, although my mother told me she
became goose flesh when she first heard me sing
after taking lessons for 10 months (it was "I
dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables).I always
wonder how it is possible to sing such fairylike
haunting tunes as you do(I have the Castles and
dreams DVD and my special darling is Ghost of a
rose)and if I will ever lose my fear from singing
in front of many people someday. Love and many blessings
for you and all your minstrels

Candice-A new fan to the fold-I just received
the Castles and Dreams DVD and I wanted to honestly
say it is one of the most magnificent pieces of
work I have ever heard. I have been a fan of Ritchie's
work for several decades and now with Blackmore's
Night you see where his heart is at. I truly believe
that you have brought out the best in Mr. Blackmore.
I have just ordered your complete collection of
CD's and am eagerly awaiting your next masterpiece.
I know there's not much call for renaissance music
in good ol' Alabama but that's OK-I feel like I'm
part of a special group. Thanks for taking the time
to listen and best wishes for you and Richie in
the future.

Hello Candice!
I just want to thank both of you for your great
music. After a long, hard day in this often grey
world it´s always a pleasure to dream away
in other times while hearing your voice!
I hope to see you on tour in Germany soon!

| Hi my name is Paul
I just want to thank you for making the music
you are making. It
is real pleasure to come home and put one of your
Cd’s in and
sit back and relax. I’m 40 and back in school
getting my BA in
history, and I took a class in medieval -renascence
life style
last semester. A friend of mine told me about
you and I bought
one of your Cd’s “past times with
good company” and took it into
class as an example of what might have been herd
in a tavern or
pub during the time. My instructor both enjoyed
and loved your
music to. Thanks for the A in my college music
class. You will
be happy to know that your music is a part of
the class as an
example of the music that would have been played.
